CS3 not hear-S3
I've been using Adobe After Effects a fair amount recently, and although I like that it can take pretty much anything I throw at it I've found the audio preview pretty pointless. Trying to edit 'to the beat' like I do in Flash is not an easy thing it seems.

I know that using CTRL I can scroll the timeline and more or less hear the audio track but I can’t get a meaningful real-time preview.

Lego Olympics 2008 in Minifig Scale
I don't often post on matter's of 'the brick' but I had to point this one out purely because of the scale of the project. It was the the 'Birds Nest' Stadium that caught my eye but the Water Cube is really something special: Lego Olympics 2008 in Minifig Scale

Bad show old boy!

You may have read my earlier post about St Georges day that although I'm no fan of flag wavers (a brief trip to a George-cross draped Essex town yesterday reminded me of that) I do think that St. Georges day is ripe for re-branding in some ironic retro-themed way, perhaps an English (Ladies and) Gentleman's day of Tea drinking and Sunday Best. The following makes me all the more determined:

A minister has admitted that the government spent a mere 230 pounds promoting St George's Day over the last five years.

I spent more than that on shoes!

Baby! Baby! Baby! Baby! Baby! Yeah!
I just found out that The Cult, and I think it is the actual band The Cult, added this photo of mine as a favourite over on Flickr:

The Cult at The Forum 22/02/08

I thought they would have added hundreds but seems not:

Chuffed! Even if it isn't them it's in with a nice selection.

Fashion Victims
Institute of Contemporary Arts Fashion in Film: If Looks Could Kill

14 May 2008 - 30 May 2008
A short-but-chic film festival exploring the links between cinema, fashion, crime and violence.

I quite fancy 60s pop art Sci-Fi The Tenth Victim (IMDB) and maybe the Korean horror remake of Powell and Pressburger's Red Shoes (IMDB).

¡El horror! ¡El horror!
I mentioned this in passing the other day and you may already know but BBC4 are running a series of Spanish language horrors. The first, Spectre, was really very creepy and quite old school so I have high hopes for the other stories, they are on 10.30 Tuesday nights and I assume were made for TV as they come in at 1hr 20 or less (thus must have allowed time for adverts back in their home broadcast station).

Tomorrow's is the rather unseasonal 'The Christmas Tale' but then Xmas was always a good time for ghost stories:

On a lighter note for the Family Guy fans; Blue Harvest is on BBC3 this Sunday, the Star Wars parody episode. Which in a stroke of genius falls on May the 4th, as in "May the forth be with you"... oh never mind...

Yep, another screening - Luxembourg
Curse of the Midnight Idol at IMVF - Luxembourg Screening

As you know, my video for Beta Valentines's Curse of the Midnight Idol has been selected to be in the IMVF this year.

The screening will take place this Saturday the 10th of November at the Sunset Cinema in Luxembourg (Cour du Couvent, Bonnevoie, Luxembourg). It's a pretty nice modern venue so worth a look.

Brain rot
I've just found out I have a new Freeview channel called simply 'Dave'. Good news is that it is showing old QI, '...Buzzcocks...' and 'Have I got News...'. Bad news is it also has re-runs of Top Gear.
